Santoreggia (also called Santoreggia essential oil or Savory oil) is the essential oil derived from the herb Satureja montana , also known as mountain savory or winter savory . This herb belongs to the same family as thyme and oregano and is known for its powerful, purifying, and stimulating properties.

Properties of Santoreggia (Satureja montana) essential oil:

Use on the body and skin

Caution: This oil is very potent and irritating in its pure form , so always dilute it! Never use it directly on the skin.

1. For skin problems such as acne, fungus or inflammation

• Dilute 1 drop of Santoreggia in 10 ml of vegetable oil (for example jojoba, hazelnut or calendula).
• Apply with a cotton swab to a local problem area (e.g. pimples or nail fungus).
• Do not use on large areas of skin and not suitable for sensitive skin.

2. As an immune booster through the skin (for example at the beginning of a cold or flu)

• Mix 2-3 drops in 20 ml of vegetable oil and rub on chest, back or soles of feet.
• Can also be combined with milder oils such as ravintsara, eucalyptus or niaouli.

3. For muscle pain or joint complaints (anti-inflammatory)

• Add 2 drops to 10 ml of arnica oil or a massage oil.
• Massage onto the painful area (not on sensitive skin or in case of skin irritation).

Important warnings:

• Do not use on children under 6 years of age , pregnant women or during breastfeeding.
• Do not use for long periods or over large surfaces.
• Do not use on mucous membranes, eyes or sensitive areas.
