UVA-UVB sunscreens:
Latest generation sun filters that are exceptionally well tolerated by the skin, providing protection against UVA rays (responsible for photoaging) and UVB rays that cause sunburn and rash.
Diethylaminohydroxybenzoylhexyl benzoate:
A photostable and highly compatible organic molecule that protects only against UVA rays. It reduces the formation of free radicals and thus slows all photoinduced processes that lead to cell aging.
Ethylhexyl Triazone:
A chemical UVB filter with a high affinity for keratin in the skin, giving it excellent water-repellent properties. A chemical filter is absorbed by the skin and becomes effective after half an hour. It's easily absorbed and spreads easily, plus it doesn't leave a white residue. It's a safe UVB filter. Stable, non-absorbable, non-hormonal disruptive, and low risk of irritation.
Tinosorb® A2B is an innovative organic aqueous dispersion of a broad-spectrum microparticle UV filter with UVB and UVA coverage. A new generation of micronized UV filters approved for use in cosmetics under the new EU Cosmetics Regulation. Tinosorb A2B protects the skin from UV wavelengths from 290 to 340 nanometers, making it the first of a new generation of UV filters that bridge the current gap between UVA and UVB filters, enabling balanced protection across the entire spectrum of solar UV radiation. This allows for a lower filter concentration than conventional ingredients to achieve better and broader coverage.
This sunscreen has anti-inflammatory properties. It boosts UVA protection when combined with other filters.
And it is most similar in size to tinosorb M.
* You might be shocked by the term "nano." There's a lot said and written about nanoparticles and nanotechnology. Unfortunately, there's also a lot of nonsense being sold.
The term "nano" primarily refers to the size of the particles. Nanoparticles are particles smaller than 100 nanometers. (A nanometer is one billionth of a meter, or one thousandth of a millimeter.) Cutting material into such minuscule particles is particularly advantageous in sun protection. These particles adhere well to the skin, are transparent instead of white, and can provide much better and more effective protection against sun damage.
But what about safety?
It is very important to know that one nanoparticle is not the same as another.
The effectiveness and safety of nanoparticles depend on properties such as their ability to clump together, their reaction in sunlight, such as the generation of free radicals, the nature of the material, its exact size, shape and weight, its effect on the cell, and the body's ability to break it down.
All these properties determine the ultimate function and effect in the body. Compare it to a raindrop and a small pebble on your car window: the same size, but a completely different impact.
Without delving too deeply into all the different nanomaterials, we know from research on tinosorb M that these particles are relatively large, that they clump together, and that their molecular weight is high (for those who want to be precise: above 500 daltons). Therefore, tinosorb M is not actually absorbed by the skin. The substance is very stable and does not form harmful free radicals in the skin under the influence of sunlight. And that is a major difference compared to titanium dioxide and (uncoated) zinc oxide in nanoform.
Tinosorb M has a very low risk of allergies or skin irritation. And unlike many chemical sunscreens, it doesn't affect hormone balance.
Very recently, further research has shown that tinosorb M has no negative effect on cell DNA and is actually non-toxic. So, even if the ingredient were absorbed through the skin, there's no reason to panic. The aforementioned adverse effects have been described in the literature for filters such as nano-titanium dioxide and chemical filters like oxybenzone and homosalate.

Tocopherol: is one of the most important compounds in vitamin E and helps the skin stay hydrated and elastic. It improves microcirculation, therefore increasing the skin's oxygen supply. Tocopherol is also very emollient and has anti-inflammatory, soothing, and sebum-regulating properties.
Olive oil: This oil has exceptional cosmetic properties, with softening, elasticizing, and nourishing properties, even suitable for particularly dry and flaky skin. It soothes redness and is rich in vitamins A and E, known for their antioxidant properties.
Sweet almond oil: has remarkable softening and nourishing properties that promote skin elasticity.
Sesame oil: a valuable aid for the skin, offering high levels of sun protection and containing a high level of unsaponifiable matter. Sesame oil is obtained by cold pressing the seeds of the plant and has excellent emollient, antioxidant, and sebum-balancing properties.
Aloe vera extract: used for its beneficial properties for the skin. It is rich in complex carbohydrates with immune-stimulating properties. It also contains other valuable substances such as mineral salts, vitamins, amino acids, organic acids, phospholipids, enzymes, lignins, and saponins. It is traditionally used to heal wounds and various skin diseases; studies have shown that it can also help heal burns and abrasions, protect the skin from infection and fungal infections, and have a regenerative function.
Calendula officinalis flower extract (*) Calendula extract. The flavonoids and mucilage have remarkable soothing properties. The extract has a calming effect on sensitive skin.
Chamomile flower extract: soothes redness and has soothing and calming properties. It stimulates microcirculation and fibroblast activity and promotes the synthesis of collagen, elastic fibers, and hyaluronic acid, promoting the regeneration of the dermis and epidermis.
Mallow extract: It absorbs large amounts of water and forms a fluid gel that slowly releases moisture to the stratum corneum. The extract therefore has soothing, protective, and moisturizing properties.
Carrot extract: Rich in beta-carotene, it helps increase skin resistance so it can protect itself from UV rays. It contributes to the natural melanin synthesis process. It has antioxidant properties and therefore protects the skin from premature aging and external factors. Thanks to its high vitamin A content, it keeps the skin smooth, soft, and healthy and repairs chapped and dry skin tissue.
